FISHERSVILLE, Va. (AP) - A Virginia man has donated an ambulance to Liberia to help combat the Ebola outbreak.

Ken Nethken of Fishersville says he decided to donate the ambulance after he heard about the outbreak in West Africa. His brother bought the vehicle 12 years ago and he'd been using it to transport supplies for his business.

Nethken tells The News Leader (http://bit.ly/1pmWgTf) in Staunton that he visited several embassies and government agencies in Washington, D.C., last week to offer the ambulance. He began to lose faith until he contacted the Liberian embassy. Liberian officials wanted the ambulance.

Gabriel Williams with the Liberian embassy tells the newspaper it was impressive to see a regular person who wanted to do something to help protect people.
