Posted: Updated:
WALLOPS ISLAND, Va.- The launch of a Terrier-Lynx suborbital rocket for the Department of Defense from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility on the Eastern Shore of Virginia has been postponed.

The launch was scheduled to take place between 2:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1. NASA did not give a reason for the postponement.

Keith Koehler, with the Office of Communications at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility, said the next attempt is scheduled for Oct. 12 between midnight to 2 a.m.

Koehler said the launch may be visible to residents in the Chesapeake Bay region. However, the NASA Visitor Center at Wallops will not be open for viewing the launch. In addition, real-time launch status updates will not be available.
