GEORGETOWN, Del.— Georgetown police say they arrested a woman after marijuana was found in her parked vehicle early Wednesday morning.

Police said that at around 12:42 a.m., Brooke Waters of Milton was located in her parked car at the Comfort Inn near a construction area by police.

Due to recent construction thefts, officers said they performed a routine check with Waters and discovered her license was suspended.

Waters could no longer drive and Comfort Inn employees would not allow her vehicle to remain in their lot. A tow truck was dispatched and police conducted an inventory search.

Police said that during the search officers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Waters' car.  Police said Waters was taken into custody and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Waters was later released on criminal summons with a future court date to be scheduled.
