HARRINGTON, Del. – A Georgetown man has been arrested and charged with his fifth DUI, according to Harrington police.

Police said they received a call at around 1 a.m. Sunday by an anonymous person reporting a possible intoxicated driver on South DuPont Highway heading into Harrington.

According to police, an officer was given a description and located the vehicle, and watched it move from the left lane on the shoulder. The officer stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Randall W. Bowden, 47.

The officer said he smelled alcohol coming from the car and conducted field sobriety tests. Bowden was then taken into custody, according to police.

During a computer check, police said they found Bowden had a suspended license and four previous DUI convictions dating back to 2001.

Bowen was taken to the Harrington Police Department for processing and charged with his 5th DUI offense, driving with and possession of a suspended license, and failure to remain in a single lane.

Police said he has been committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute on $6,500 cash bail.
