DOVER, Del. – Police say they arrested two Dover men in relation to a drug transaction and found one of them in possession of 54 bags of heroin and .4 grams of crack cocaine.

Dover police said that at around 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, they observed Eljere Ingram, 34 and Jesse Fitzgerald, 50, in a gold GMC Yukon in the Dover Mart parking lot.

Police noted that just the day before, members of the department's Drug, Vice and Organized Crime and Safe Streets Unit saw the two men conduct a drug deal in the parking lot of County Village Apartments while operating the same vehicle.

When police stopped the vehicle on Wednesday, they say they found Ingram in possession of drugs and also seized $1,068 and a razor knife from the man. They say Fitzgerald was arrested for the previous drug transaction they observed Tuesday.

Ingram was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a deadly weapon by person prohibited and two counts possession with intent to deliver controlled substance. He was committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu of $46,200 cash bond.

Fitzgerald was also committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu of $11,200 secured bond. He is charged with delivery of a controlled substance with aggravating factor, possession of drug paraphernalia and third degree conspiracy.
