Hoopers Island Man Electrocuted

HOOPERS ISLAND, Md.– Authorities say a Hoopers Island man was electrocuted Saturday while working on his sailboat.

Geoffrey Goodman, 51, was working on the sailboat at his home when the mast came into contact with power lines, according to the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office, which responded to the reported electrocution along with Dorchester County EMS and the Hoopers Island Volunteer Fire Department.

Police said high tides left 6 inches of water in the area around the vessel.

Goodman was transported to Dorchester General Hospital for treatment, which was unsuccessful.
