NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police are investigating an attempted robbery at a Home Depot in Newark that left a 24-year-old man injured.

Police say a Home Depot employee was walking around the exterior of the store on Peoples Drive at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday when he was approached by a man who asked him several questions. Police say when the employee began walking away the man pulled out a knife and stabbed the employee multiple times. The employee was able to wrestle the knife away from his attacker, who fled on foot into a nearby wooded area.

Police say the victim was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated for his wounds.

Police say the suspect is between the ages of 40 and 50 and has gray hair.
