FEDERALSBURG, Md. (AP/WBOC) - Maryland State Police have made an arrest in the killing of a 25-year-old man shot while walking with his cousin and two children in downtown Federalsburg Tuesday night. According to MSP, Darren Bolden, 55, of Federalsburg has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting.

Police said Wednesday that they responded to a 911 call about a shooting around 8 p.m. Tuesday in downtown Federalsburg. When they arrived, they found 25-year-old Timothy Darnell Smith standing with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Within moments of arriving, Smith collapsed and police began trying to revive him, MSP said. He was pronounced dead soon after at a hospital in nearby Seaford.
