SALISBURY, Md.- Downtown Salisbury is routinely under varying states of renovation in an effort to, again, make it the center of culture and entertainment on the Eastern Shore.
As a lot of empty spaces are being revitalized in the historic area and one more will join the crowd.
Across from the Wicomico Public Library on Division Street is the former Fire Headquarters 16. On Friday, a groundbreaking ceremony by the Development Real Estate Company, or DevRECo, kicks off the construction of Headquarters Live.
Salisbury Mayor Jim Ireton is expected to attend the ceremony at 5:30 p.m. as the 3rd Friday festivities continue on.
The event will feature historic information about the station, details about the opening and explain how the project will bring awareness to downtown.
The expected opening of Headquarters Live is still to be determined.
