Officials: No Ebola Case in Delaware

WILMINGTON, Del. - Health care workers in Delaware are putting fears of Ebola in the First State at rest. A New Castle County health care provider screened an adult Tuesday for the deadly virus but confirmed the person did not have Ebola.

The Delaware Division of Public Health has asked all medical providers to do Ebola screenings as a matter of extra precaution. These screenings are ongoing statewide. Health officials say the screened the person by asking specific questions, but the person did not meet the criteria for exposure.

DPH reminds medical providers to screen for travel history and isolate the patient if Ebola is suspected, and alert the DPH Office of Epidemiology at 888-295-5156 during normal business hours or (302) 744-4700 after business hours or on weekends and holidays.
