Officials Investigate Cause of Salisbury Vehicle Fire

SALISBURY, Md. – An early morning automobile fire that caused significant structural damage originated in the vehicle's engine compartment, the State Fire Marshal determined.

Fire officials say the owner of that 2001 Chevy Tahoe, Toi Joynes, discovered the blaze.

The Salisbury Fire Department arrived at 820 South Schumaker Drive around 2:18 a.m. and controlled the fire in about 20 minutes, according to the State Fire Marshal.

Fire officials say the blaze caused about $10,500 in damage. The cause is still under investigation.
