Pre-Registration Now Open For Turkey Trek 5K

Posted:

SALISBURY, Md. - It's that time of year again: time for Wicomico Recreation's 6th Annual Turkey Trek 5K through Pemberton Historical Park.

The race will begin at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day and wind through the park's forests, meadows and wetlands. The course is mostly flat, with just one or two small hills, so it's perfect for runners and walkers of all ages.

The fastest males and females in various age groups will receive awards, and all participants can enjoy healthy refreshments and pie after the race.

Pre-registration is open now through November 24 for $25 per person. Register before November 10 to guarantee a race t-shirt. Long-sleeved shirts are available for an additional $5. Online registration and more information is available at www.pembertonpark.org/annual-turkey-trek.html.

On-site registration will also be available for $30 per person the morning of the event beginning at 7:30 a.m.

All proceeds from the race will go towards Pemberton Historical Park's Environmental Education Programs.
