Reported Domestic Assault Leads to Arrest in Hurlock

Posted:

HURLOCK, Md. – Police have charged a Hurlock man with assault after his wife reported he abused her during an argument.

Thorhaz Smallwood, 29, was incarcerated Wednesday on charges of assault and false statement, police say.

According to officers, Stephanie Smallwood entered police headquarters and told them her husband had choked her and bruised her face by striking it. Police located the man outside his residence, where they say he attempted to mislead them by giving a false name. Officers arrested Smallwood and took him before the court commissioner. His bond was set at $10,000.
