Lawsuits Say Woman Trampled at Busch Gardens Event

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Busch Gardens is being sued by a woman who says she was trampled during the amusement park's annual Howl-O-Scream event.

Brittany Lipscomb says in two lawsuits that other patrons struck her from behind and knocked her down as they were being chased by costumed Busch Gardens employees carrying fake chain saws.

Lipscomb says she was pregnant when the incident occurred on Oct. 5, 2012.

A Busch Gardens spokesman says that the company doesn't comment on pending legal issues.

The lawsuits initially were filed in Henrico County. Both were moved to federal court in Richmond this week at Busch Garden's request. Lipscomb's attorney, Robert W. O'Neal, says that he's trying to get the lawsuits moved back to state court.
