Police Find 640 Bags of Heroin in Laurel Man's Car, Home

LAUREL, Del. – Sussex County's Drug Task Force charged a Laurel man in connection with heroin distribution after investigating numerous complaints about drug activity at his home.

On Thursday around 3 p.m., police say they learned Reginald K. Mitchell, 38, of the 33000 block of Little Hill Road, was dealing heroin from his residence. Before arriving at the house, detectives observed Mitchell driving away in a white pick-up truck. Upon stopping him, they found Mitchell to be in possession of 13 bags of heroin.

Troopers then searched the house and located an additional 627 bags totaling more than 9.4 grams, as well as 2.6 grams of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and $480 in suspected drug proceeds.

Police took Mitchell back to the station and charged him with Possession of Heroin, two counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine and two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $52,000 cash bond.
