Official: "Risk of Ebola is Never Zero"

CONAKRY, Guinea (AP) - Doctors Without Borders says that while it takes measures to protect its staff treating Ebola patients, the risk of contagion cannot be entirely eliminated.

Craig Spencer, an American doctor who worked with the aid organization in Guinea, is being treated for the disease in New York.

An official for the organization in Guinea refused Friday to say where or how long Spencer had been working in Guinea, one of three West African countries severely affected by the Ebola outbreak.

The group, known also by its French name, Medecins Sans Frontieres or MSF, runs two treatment centers in Guinea.

The official said: "Contagion is everywhere. Even in Conakry, the risk isn't zero. But MSF takes measures to secure its personnel." She spoke on condition of anonymity, citing sensitivity of the situation.
