Delaware Inmate Dies at Kent General

DOVER, Del. – An inmate at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center died Sunday.

Curtis McAllister, 57, of Edgemoor, died of natural causes at Kent General Hospital in Dover following a lengthy illness, said the Delaware Department of Correction.

McAllister was serving a life sentence for drug trafficking and other offenses, according to officials, who said his sentence effective date was April 28, 2000.

Officials said foul play was not suspected and McAllister's body was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science as a standard procedure.
