State Fire Marshal Investigating Early Morning Fire in Crisfield

Posted:
CRISFIELD, Md. - The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a fire that damaged a home and two nearby structures early Tuesday morning in Crisfield.

Fire officials say it happened just after 4 a.m. Tuesday in the 4,000 block of Lawson Barnes Road. The State Fire Marshal said a vacant one story home and two other small structures nearby caught fire.

No one was inside the buildings at the time. There were no reported injuries.

The State Fire Marshal said the fire was noticed by someone passing by, and it took about an hour to get the fire under control. The Crisfield, Marion, and Princess Anne volunteer fire companies all responded.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but the initial investigation reveals the fire caused $25,000 in damage.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Salisbury Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office at (410) 713-3780.
