Second Arrest Made in DSU Off-Campus Shooting

DOVER, Del.- Dover police say they now have two suspects in custody in connection with Monday afternoon's shooting that occurred at a Delaware State University residency hall.

Michael Clark, 25, of Dover was apprehended around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. 

He was later arraigned and committed to the Department of Correction in default of $72,000 cash bond..

Marshawn Fortner, 25, of Dover, was apprehended without incident in downtown Dover on Tuesday afternoon.

Both Clark and Fortner – who are not DSU students – have been charged with first-degree assault, second-degree conspiracy and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. 

Fortner was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 in Dover and committed to the Delaware Correctional Facility in default of $75,000 cash bond yesterday.

A male DSU student was wounded in Monday's shooting at the DSU Living and Learning Commons, an off-campus residential facility located about half a mile north of the main campus on N. Dupont Highway. Police said he is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries at Bayhealth Medical Center.
