Police Seek Information in Salisbury Shooting

SALISBURY, Md.– Salisbury police are investigating an early Friday shooting that put a Delmar, Md. man in the hospital. 

According to the police, at approximately 4:28 a.m. officers responded to Parkside Apartments on Emory Court for the report of an assault with a firearm in the parking lot near the pool.

Police said the victim, 26-year-old Danny Lee Johnson Jr., was shot in the upper portion of the torso and transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Witnesses reported seeing unidentified suspects fleeing the area in a vehicle described as a silver or blue passenger car. They also said Johnson had been at the Brew River restaurant prior to the assault. Detectives are working to obtain surveillance video from the business.

Anyone who may have witnessed the assault or may have seen Johnson at Brew River is asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Division of the Salisbury Police Department at (410) 548-3165 or Crime Solvers at (410) 548-1776.

Crime Solvers will reward up to $1,000 for tips that lead to an arrest.

    A scary scene on the Ocean City beach Sunday afternoon after a Pennsylvania woman was wounded by a windswept umbrella. Ocean City Beach Patrol said the incident happened on the 54th Street beach, and they received the call just after 3 p.m. Beach Patrol said an unattended umbrella swept by the wind pierced the woman's skin on her upper left chest. However, Captain Butch Arbin who was on scene said it was a non-life threatening injury.
