PITTSVILLE, Md. - The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in a reported assault that happened Thursday night in Pittsville, Md.

Deputies say just after 9 p.m. Thursday, they responded to a reported altercation at a home in the 34000 block of Railroad Road in Pittsville. Upon arrival, deputies say they met with two people who stated that 29-year-old Brandt Roberts, of Pittsville, was inside the home and according to them, "yelling and out of control."

Deputies say they learned an argument began between Roberts and other people inside the home that turned physical. Deputies say the argument escalated when Roberts reportedly assaulted another person inside the home. Deputies say they observed signs of injury that corroborated that story.

Deputies say they placed Roberts under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Roberts is charged with second degree assault. After an initial appearance, deputies say the Commissioner released Roberts on Personal Recognizance. No word on his future court appearance date.

Phillips Packing House Named One of Six in Maryland to "Fix"

Conservationists call it a "threatened historic place." The Phillips Packing House in Cambridge was built in the 1920s. At its peak, nearly 10,000 employees packed vegetables and shucked oysters inside its factory. But after closing in the 60's, the building and its two, towering smokestacks have sat untouched. But now, a new initiative aims to restore the Phillips Packing House as soon as this year.
