Police Receiving Reports of ATV's in Streets

SALISBURY, Md.- Salisbury police say they have experienced and increase in calls involving off-road motorcycles operating in the streets.

Officers say this presents a safety concern not only for the operators of the off-road motorcycles, but for law-abiding motor vehicle operators as well.

The Salisbury Police Department asks that anyone who sees off-road vehicles on the streets to report the incident to law enforcement officials.

Police say witness who can identify the operator, describe their clothing and the motorcycle being driven can greatly assist law enforcement in locating the operators of the motorcycles.

According to the Salisbury Police Department, it is a violation of state law to operate an “all- terrain vehicle” (ATV), dirt bike type motorcycles, or any other motorized vehicles on the public

streets of Maryland, without the proper vehicle registration.

The Salisbury Police Department says their goal is to prevent an accident which may result in a serious injury.

Anyone with information about this type of incident is encouraged to contact the police department. Officers say callers can remain anonymous.
