DOVER, Del. - A Dover man is sentenced to 25 years in prison for robbing a Citizens Bank back in April in Dover.

Deputy Attorney General Jason Cohee says he secured the guilty plea from Mark T. Jones, of Dover, in Kent County Superior Court on one count of first degree robbery.

Cohee says because Jones has a lengthy criminal record that includes six prior felonies and 17 adult misdemeanors, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison under Delaware's habitual offender laws.

Jones was arrested in April by Dover Police and charged in connection with his role in the April 4 robbery of the Citizens Bank on Loockerman Street.

Police say on April 4, Jones walked into the bank, displayed a handgun, and got away with an undisclosed amount of money. Police quickly identified him and sent out media alerts with his photograph and a screen grab from a bank surveillance camera. He was arrested a few days later in Smyrna after police received an anonymous tip that he may be staying in a room at the Economy Inn, near Garrison's Lake.
