STAUNTON, Va. (AP) - A competency evaluation has been ordered for a Staunton teenager accused of killing a mentally disabled man.

Media outlets report that Staunton Circuit Court Judge Charles Ricketts III ordered the evaluation for 16-year-old Isaiah Stuart on Wednesday.

Stuart faces trial as an adult on a first-degree murder charge.

He is accused of killing 26-year-old Julian Parrott near the 18th hole at the Gypsy Hill Park course in May. An autopsy determined that Parrott was stabbed 35 times.
