Report of a Loud Radio Leads to Drug Arrest in New Castle

 NEW CASTLE, Del.- New Castle County Police arrested a man on a drug charge after officers responded to his residence in reference to a loud radio.

On Thursday Nov. 20 at 12:30 a.m., New Castle County Police Patrol Officers were dispatched to the Castlebrook Apartments on the 500 block of South DuPont Highway for the report of a loud radio. 

Officers Knorr and Drake arrived at the residence and made contact with John Hardy, 45. Hardy allowed the officers to come into his apartment, where they saw marijuana in plain view. Hardy was taken into custody and a search warrant was executed at his home. Officers seized 200 grams of marijuana, two digital scales, drug paraphernalia and $583.00 cash. 

Hardy was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $10,000 secured bail.

    Salisbury Bypass Detour to Reopen Thursday

    The State Highway Administration estimates the Salisbury Bypass detour will reopen on Thursday. 

    The construction to the bridge over US 13 is scheduled to finish this week and will allow traffic to head southbound on the bypass. 

    The detour's closure will also allow SHA to remove the temporary traffic signals on Naylor Mill Road.
