Tractor-Trailer and Pickup Collide Head-on, One Dead

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – One person has died as result of a head-on collision between a tractor-trailer and pickup truck Tuesday afternoon, according to Maryland State Police.

As of 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, police say the scene was all clear. The accident that happened on Gumboro Road and East Line Road. Both roads remained closed for nearly six hours.

The call for the accident came in at 3:22 p.m., according to police.

Authorities say a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck hit head-on.

The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead. The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

    Police Investigating Deadly Crash in Wicomico County

    Maryland State Police are investigating a deadly car crash Friday afternoon. It happened at the intersection of White Lowe Road and Route 50 shortly before 3 p.m. According to MSP, Maria Theresia Ellis, 77 of Ocean City, was driving on White Lowe Road when her car failed to yield to oncoming traffic as she turned onto Route 50. Police said Ellis's car was hit in a T-bone like manner by Garrett Adrian Pusey, 20 of Mardela Springs.
