SALISBURY, Md. - Salisbury Police are searching for a suspect they say robbed the Residence Inn Marriott early Tuesday morning.

The Department says officers responded to the hotel, located at 140 Centre Road, just after 2 a.m. Tuesday. During the investigation, police say hotel employees told them a man was seen running into the hotel lobby through the north entrance. Hotel employees say the suspect then approached the counter, brandished a knife and demanded money from the cash register. Police say the man fled the scene on foot with some cash.

There were no injuries reported during this incident.

Police describe the suspect as a white male in his mid thirties. They say he was about 5'9", and weighed about 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black shoes, and a dark-colored bandana which he used to cover his face during the robbery.

The investigation is ongoing and police are requesting the public's assistance in identifying the suspect in this case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department or Crime Solvers (410) 548-1776
