Scheduled Power Outage This Weekend in Berlin

BERLIN, Md. - Residents in Berlin, Md. should be aware of a scheduled interruption of power this weekend.

Weather permitting, Delmarva Power says it plans to do transmission line work in Worcester County that will require a power outage for customers served by the Town of Berlin in the early morning hours of Saturday

The power company says the outage will occur from midnight to 4 a.m. Saturday and affect roughly 4,500 customers.

Delmarva Power says it chose the overnight hours for the service interruption in order to minimize the impact to residents of Berlin.

"Our rebuild of a more than 50 year old transmission line between Berlin and Ocean City is designed to improve electric service reliability in Worcester County," said John Allen, Delmarva Power region vice president. "We will make every effort to keep the outage as brief as possible. We also apologize for any inconvenience while this work takes place and thank the public for their patience and understanding."
