7 Juveniles Arrested For Assault of 83-Year Old

 SALISBURY,Md. - Salisbury Police say they've arrested 7 juveniles in connection to an assault and robbery of 83-year old man on Saturday afternoon.


The man said that around 3:30 pm, police responded to the area of Camden Avenue and Monticello Avenue for a report of a robbery. Officers met with an 83 year old male victim who reported that he was walking down Camden Avenue in the area of Monticello Avenue when he was approached by a group juvenile males riding bicycles.


The man said one of the juveniles struck him in the back of the head, which caused the victim to fall to the ground. The suspect stated to the victim, “Gimme all your money”.The suspects then proceeded to kick and punch the victim while he was laying on the ground. One of the suspects then forcibly removed the victim's umbrella from his possession and assaulted him with it. 


The suspects then fled from the area on bicycles.

During the investigation seven juvenile males were located, identified and charged for the assault and robbery.
Officers also recovered a backpack from the suspects which contained an airsoft type replica handgun which is pictured
below.

Further investigation revealed that two of the bicycles used by the juveniles were reported stolen from the Monticello neighborhood where the assault and robbery had taken place. Six of the juveniles were held by the Department
of Juvenile Justice and the 16 year old juvenile was release by the Commissioner.

Arrested were three 14 year old males, two 15 year old males, and one 16 year old male, all of Salisbury, Maryland

The investigation is ongoing and police are requesting the public's assistance in identifying other suspects
in this case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department or Crime Solvers.
