Md. State Government Launches Drunk Driving App

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland has launched a new phone app to fight drunk driving.

The ENDUI app allows users to estimate their blood-alcohol level, test motor skills with games and call designated drivers. The app encourages users to report drunk drivers and warns that "driving with any amount of alcohol in your system may impair you and be illegal."

The free app is available for Android and iPhone users. It was announced Thursday by state government and police officials at an annual memorial service for those who've been killed because of drunk driving.

Jan Withers, the Mothers Against Drunk Driving president whose daughter was killed by a drunk driver, says in a news release that "a little time spent planning before you go out can go a long way toward saving a life."
