GEORGETOWN, Del. – Delaware State Police say shots were fired during a Monday night armed robbery of a convenience store in Georgetown.

Police said the incident happened around 8:45 p.m. when two male suspects entered the Corner Store, located in the County Seat Gardens Mobile Home Park on Ebony Street.

Police said one of the suspects, who was armed with a handgun, confronted a 40-year-old male employee and demanded money. According to officers, when the employee refused to comply, the suspects fled, and the man with the gun fired multiple rounds in the direction of the business. There were no reported injuries, but police say one bullet struck the store.

Both suspects are described as black males. The armed suspect is believed to be 5-foot-11 to 6-feet tall with black hair and brown eyes. The second suspect is believed to be 5-foot-8 and heavyset, also with black hair and brown eyes.

No surveillance photos are available at this time.
