NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Authorities in New Castle County say a man was found dead at the scene of a fire in Claymont and a second person has been taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Officials say they were called to the Harbor House Apartments in the 200 block of Harbor Drive around 2:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of a fire. When they arrived, they found heavy fire on the third floor of the building. One person was found dead, and a 72-year-old man was rescued and treated for smoke inhalation and high carbon monoxide levels. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
