Shed Fire Under Investigation in Mardela Springs

MARDELA SPRINGS, Md. – Fire officials are investigating a Sunday afternoon fire that caused more than $10,000 in damage to a shed in Mardela Springs. 

According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, at around 2:20 p.m. a passerby discovered the blaze in an 8-by-10 foot shed on 11529 Old School Street.

It took 20 firefighters from the Sharptown, Mardela and Hebron fire departments 20 minutes to extinguish the flames, fire officials said.

Authorities said there were no smoke alarms in the structure. The fire's cause and area of origin are under investigation at this time.
