Dover Police Investigating Attempted Armed Robbery

DOVER, Del. - Dover police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with weekend attempted armed robbery of a business.

Police said the incident happened just after 5 p.m. Saturday at Tienda Latina, located on the 700 block of Townsend Boulevard. According to investigators, a male suspect armed with a 6-inch kitchen knife entered the business, jumped the counter and attempted to force the clerk to open the cash registers.  After several failed attempts, police said the suspect ran out of the front of the business and took off toward Townsend Boulevard.

Police said the suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male, between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8. They say he was last seen wearing all black clothing.
