Georgetown Police Say Suspect on the Run is Armed and Dangerous

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Police in Georgetown are asking for the public's help in finding a suspect considered armed and dangerous, wanted in a sexual assault case.

Police say Jawan T. Colson, 30, is on the move.

Investigators say they found the car he stole from the victim in the Dover area, but Colson had taken off.

Colson is wanted on a number of charges including first degree rape, second degree rape, strangulation, first degree unlawful imprisonment, theft of a motor vehicle, third degree unlawful sexual contact, and theft under $1500.

Police say the sexual assault happened on Dec. 19 at 3:00 a.m. at the County Seat Apartment complex.

Authorities say Colson bound and gagged at 29-year-old female and sexually assaulted her.

Police say the victim eventually freed her hands and called for help.

Investigators say Colson told the victim he was going to get a gun and that he was not going to jail.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
