JEFFERSON, Md. (AP) - Friends and family of a Frederick County woman found dying in her front yard this week say she was gentle, loving and "a force for good" in her community.
Maryland state troopers found 67-year-old Lillie Morris suffering from unknown trauma Monday after getting a 911 call about someone lying in a front yard. Morris died while being rushed to the hospital, and investigators are treating her death as a homicide.
An autopsy will determine how she was killed. No arrests have been made.
Morris' daughter, Lisa Morris, says that her mother was caring, gentle and kind. She declined to talk more, saying she needed time alone.
Carroll Jones, Brunsick's former mayor and a current councilman, says Morris loved to help others and made everyone smile.
