Updated: Police Arrest Suspect in Salisbury Fatal Shooting

SALISBURY, Md. – Police say a woman who was shot on Christmas Day has passed away. Police have a 24-year-old Salisbury man in custody after witnesses identified him as the shooter.

According to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, the shooting happened Thursday on the 1200 block of Kiowa Avenue in Salisbury.

When deputies arrived at the scene they discovered a black female with a gunshot wound to the head. She was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Police say the woman succumbed to those injuries on Dec. 26.

Through interviews with witnesses, detectives with the Wicomico County Bureau of Investigation said they were able to determine Jack Braboy was the alleged shooter.

Maryland State Police conducting a search located Braboy in the area of Delaware Avenue and took him into custody.

Braboy was charged with attempted murder and first-degree assault and turned over to the custody of the Wicomico County Detention Center. However, police say additional charges will be filed since the victim has passed away.
