DORCHESTER CO. Md. – A 25-year-old Federalsburg man suffered life-threatening injuries from a single vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Dorchester County.

Troopers from the Maryland State Police Easton Barrack responded to Route 392 in the area of Wesley Road at 12:29 a.m. Sunday for a single vehicle crash. Police said a Black Scion TC driven by Christopher Bailey, 25, was traveling east on Route 392 and left the roadway. The vehicle overturned, hitting a tree and utility support wire.

Bailey was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury with life-threatening injuries by MSP helicopter. Bailey was later transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma.

Troopers believe speed was a contributing factor in the crash.

Maryland State Highway Administration from the Cambridge office are assisting with traffic control and extended the road closure due to a downed power line. Choptank electric is on scene repairing the damage. As of now, there is no timeline for the roadway to reopen.

The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office assisted with the investigation.
