Suspect Arrested for Smyrna Carjacking

SMYRNA, Del.- Police in Smyrna arrested a man in connection with a carjacking.

Police say the incident happened on Dec. 28 at the McDonalds at 333 North DuPont Highway.

According to police, a 19-year-old female victim said her ex-boyfriend confronted her at work. Police say the victim and the suspect went out near her car, when a physical alternation took place and the suspect snatched her car keys out of her hand. Police say the suspect then got inside the car and fled.

Officers say they searched the area but could not find the suspect or the vehicle. Officers then obtained an arrest warrant for 21-year-old Ezekiel Sullivan of Smyrna for second-degree carjacking and offensive touching.

Around 6 p.m., officers say they had reports that Sullivan was near the Smyrna Mart. Police say officers responded and took Sullivan into custody without incident. The victims car was recovered and returned to her.

Sullivan was arrested for one count of Carjacking 2nd degree and one count of offensive touching and arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court 2 via video phone and committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in default of $10,500 secured bond.
