SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man threatened to kill a woman he lived with and her children, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office. He has been detained on a $1 million dollar bond.

It happened December 23 in the 300 block of Zion Road.

Authorities say in an alcohol-fueled rage Gualberto Marroquin-Paxtor, 31, brandished a knife at a female victim and used an electric cord to try to strangle her.

Police say when she tried to run, Gualberto grabbed her by her hair and pulled her back into the room and continued to assault her.

Gualberto threatened to kill the victim and her children if she contacted police, according to the sheriff's office.

Upon arrest, Gualberto was transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner.

After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Gualberto on a bond of $50,000.00.

Following a bond review on 24 December 2014, the bond on Gualberto was raised to $1,000,000.00.

He is charged with first degree assault and having a dangerous weapon.
