BALTIMORE (AP) - Hospital officials say a woman who was shot in the stomach by the man who killed two New York Police Department officers before taking his own life has been released.

Officials said Tuesday that 29-year-old Shaneka Thompson has been released from the University of Maryland Medical Center's Shock Trauma Unit, where she was being treated for a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Police say Thompson was shot in her Baltimore County apartment by her ex-boyfriend Ismaaiyl Brinsley on Dec. 20. Police say Brinsley then boarded a bus to New York, where he fatally shot a pair of police officers sitting in a marked car. Police say Brinsley then killed himself.
