Salisbury Police Investigate Reported Shooting

Posted:
SALISBURY, Md. - Salisbury Police continue to investigate a reported shooting in Salisbury, and they are requesting the public's help in finding the person they say fled the scene.

Police say on December 27, around 9:15 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Naylor Street and East Church Street to investigate an unrelated reported suicidal person. While conducting the investigation, officers say they heard a series of gunshots. Police say the officers began to search the area of Naylor Street and found a person lying on the pavement in the street in the 300 block of Naylor Street, with a loaded gun lying nearby.

Police say when they got closer, the person got up and took off.

The Wicomico County Sheriffs Office K-9 responded and searched the area, but was unsuccessful in finding the suspect. Police say further investigation revealed that an occupied passenger vehicle was struck by a bullet as the vehicle traveled through this same area during the time of the firearms discharge.

Police say no injuries were reported and the Salisbury Police Department is requesting the

public's assistance in identifying the subject who fled from the area.

Police say the man is described as a black man, about 19 to 20 years old with short braids, about 6'1" and weighing  roughly 180 pounds. Police say he was last seen wearing a black jacket with a hood and dark pants.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department (410) 548-3113 or Crime Solvers (410) 548-1776.
