Midshore Faces First 2015 Snowfall

Updated:
EASTON, Md.- The restaurant may not be opening until tonight, but Laura Dipasquale came to work early Tuesday, shoveling the sidewalk outside Portofino in Easton.

She says when she woke up at her home on Hooper's Island, things looked clear.  She was surprised when she got to work.

"I took my dogs for a walk, there was not much going on down there, drove through Cambridge, and then I hit Easton and it's like a white wonderland," said Dipasquale.

The Mid-Shore was ready for this storm.  The sidewalks were salted ahead of time, and brine was applied to area highways yesterday.  The end result is the sidewalks are clear, and so are the majority of the roads.

Farther north, conditions were worse.  In Centreville, Mikala Johnson says driving this morning was a challenge.

"It was pretty icy on the roads, hard to go fast.  You couldn't go fast at all or else you're gonna slide off," said Johnson.

The good news is few accidents were reported in this first winter snow storm in 2015 on Delmarva.
