Deputies: Man Shot in Neck in Grasonville

Posted:
GRASONVILLE, Md - Deputies with the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office say a man was shot late Thursday night in Grasonville.

Deputies say around 11:30 Thursday night, they were sent to the Emergency Room where the victim had already arrived. Deputies say a witness told them he and the victim were in a car on Grasonville Cemetery Road near White House Lane looking at Facebook when someone started shooting, shattering the driver's side window.

That's when the witness said he noticed the victim, Dontez T. Tingle, of Grasonville, had been shot, so he drove him to the nearby Emergency Room.

Deputies say Tingle was struck in the neck area and was flown to Shock Trauma for neck and shoulder injuries. As of Friday afternoon, deputies say Tingle was considered to be in stable condition.

Deputies say detectives went to Shock Trauma attempting to interview Tingle for additional information.

Deputies say it remains unknown where the shots came from or who the shooter may be. The responding deputies were assisted by Sheriff's CIU, Maryland State Police Troopers and Crime Lab and processed the scene for several hours as well as went door to door seeking witnesses.

The investigation of the incident is continuing and anyone with information is urged to contact the Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Unit at (410) 758-0770, by email at sheriff-info@qac.org or by sending a PM to the Sheriff's Office Facebook account.
