SMYRNA, Del, - Officers of the Smyrna Police Department arrested a 20-year-old Smyrna man Friday after a 61-year-old male said he was punched in the face and stomach during an argument.

Officers were contacted by the victim who resides on Fayette Road in Smyrna on Friday. He advised that in August of 2014, he allowed Ronald Miles, 20, of Harkins Drive, to stay in the residence for two weeks. He told police that during that time, he invited two of his friends into the reisdence without permission and that they had not left. The victim said that he wanted them to leave but was scared what would happen if he told them to leave or contacted police.

Officers responded to the residence and contacted Miles, at which time they smelled a strong odor of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in plain view in the bedroom area that Miles had claimed as his. Officers then took Miles into custody and obtained a search warrant. Upon a search of Miles' room, officers located 72.8 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, 5 prescription pills and miscellaneous paraphernalia.

Officers also located drug paraphernalia inside a second bedroom found to be occupied by Taijai T. Davis, 20, of the 800 block of W Division Street, Dover.
