SEAFORD, Del. – A Georgetown man has been charged, following a daytime robbery in the parking lot of Middleford Deli, according to Delaware State Police.

It happened at 10:55 a.m. on Monday at 10056 Middleford Road.

Police say Saint Joe J. Petion, 26, approached the car of a 61-year-old victim, opened the door, held a gun to the victim's neck, and demanded money.

Investigators say the victim complied and gave Petion an undisclosed amount of cash. Police say Petion then took off.

The victim, who was not injured in the confrontation, gave the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center and responding troopers a description of the suspect and the vehicle he used to get away.

Over an hour later, police say two officers saw the vehicle described by the victim.

Petion was pulled over in Millsboro and taken into custody.

Police say he is charged with first-degree robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

He was arraigned at JP2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $100,000.00 secured bond.
