SALISBURY, Md.– A Salisbury man is behind bars on assault and related charges following accusations that he grabbed a woman and held her against her will during an argument.

According to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, at around 10:23 p.m. Saturday a deputy responded to a reported domestic disturbance at an apartment on the 300 block of Glen Avenue in Salisbury. When the deputy arrived on the scene, he entered the apartment on his own due to multiple reports of a woman screaming for help. At that point, the deputy said he made contact with the resident, 31-year-old Adam J. Starky of Salisbury.

The deputy said he determined that Starky and a woman had been in an argument, during which the woman attempted to leave the apartment. She told the deputy Starky had grabbed her and pulled her back into the apartment, causing her to scream for help.

Starky was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and false imprisonment and ordered held in the Wicomico County Detention Center in lieu of $10,000 bond.
