Smyrna Man Wanted for October Armed Robbery Attempt

SMYRNA, Del. – Police in Smyrna are asking for the public's help in locating a suspect wanted in connection with an October armed robbery attempt.

According to the Smyrna Police Department, a warrant is out for the arrest of Roy Kolaco, 23, of Smyrna, for an incident that happened on Oct.  31.

Police said that shortly after 11 p.m. that evening, Kolaco and another suspect entered a home in 200 building of Peach Circle, held a firearm to a resident's head and demanded property. The suspects then fled without obtaining any property from the victim.

Investigators determined Kolaco was in possession of the firearm.

    A Snow Hill man is in critical condition after a shooting Friday night. The Snow Hill Police Department responded to a shooting, or shots fired, call at around 7 p.m. at the intersection of W. Federal Street and Ross Street in Snow Hill. Police said they found Deron Raymont Ames, 25, of Snow Hill, laying along the edge of the roadway near the curb. Police said Ames was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
