Two Arrested As Part of Operation "Ceasefire"

CRISFIELD, Md. - The Crisfield Police Department has made two additional arrests in conjunction with the active and on-going Operation "Ceasefire."

Police say Tavian Martel Simmons was arrested on Woodebrook Drive in Salisbury with the assistance of the Maryland State Apprehension Team.

Simmons is charged with possession of a handgun, use of a handgun in a crime of violence, first and second degree assault, and other charges. He is being held on  $250,000 bail.

Police also arrested William Melrice Ward on Broadway Street in Crisfield.

Ward is charged with illegal possession of ammunition by a felon and is being held on $5,000 bail.

The ammunition was recovered at Ward's residence during the execution of search warrants during Operation "Ceasefire." Ward faces a possible 13 years for violation of parole and probation.

The Crisfield Police Department says Operation "Ceasefire" is now an active and on-going state and federal investigation.
