DOVER, Del. - Dover Police say two Delaware men were arrested Monday after they received a complaint of gunshots that were fired into a vehicle while two women were in it.

Police say around 12:30 a.m. Monday, officers responded to the scene on Kirkwood Street just south of Mary Street in Dover. Police say upon arriving, the officers found two bullet holes in the driver's side of a vehicle. Two women who were seated inside were not injured.

Police say they observed another vehicle leaving the scene in a hurry and attempted to stop it. They say the driver of the 200 gold Lincoln failed to stop for police, causing police to chase after it. Authorities say the suspect's vehicle took off down Weston Drive where the vehicle crashed into a large mulch pile. Both suspects then fled from the vehicle, but police caught up with them a short distance away with the help from a police K-9, according to Dover Police.

Police say they found two handguns, four rounds of .45 caliber ammunition, $1,889 in cash, 39 bags of heroin and bullet-proof body armor.

25-year-old Brandon McDonald, of Dover, and 27-year-old Tomas Gordon, of Felton, were arrested and charged with a number of violations, including reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person during the commission of a felony, possession with the intent to deliver heroin, conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and other charges.

Police say both men were processed and then arraigned. Gordon was committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in default of $119,008 cash bail. McDonald was also committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in default of $118,000 cash bail.
